The Scottish National Championships 2003
&
WCA European Classic
3rd & 4th May 2003
updated 27/10/02
The Scottish National & WCA European Classic Cheer & Dance Championship will be once again held in the Caird Hall Dundee. Since last year the Caird Hall has seen a multi-million pound face lift with the seating area changed to gallery style offering an even better view of the stage area.

Due to popular demand, (web site poll) and the vast majority of the coaches questioned in requesting this change, this year we will see the following change to the running order of the Competition.
On Saturday the 3rd May, the Scottish squads will be competing in the Cheer divisions in the morning, and the top squads will qualify to compete at the WCA Cheer event that afternoon. The Open Individual Cheer sections will be held on Saturday evening and there will be tumbling and non-tumbling divisions in both the Senior and Junior divisions. The top Scottish Cheerleaders in both Senior divisions will be invited to try out for the 2003/4 Team Scotland squad.
On Sunday the 4th May, the Scottish squads will be competing in the Dance divisions until finished, with the top squads qualifying to compete in the WCA International Dance divisions in the afternoon. The major benefits to this are as follows: Squads will not need the use of changing facilities, and also wont have to put on their unwashed uniforms from the previous day ; The Cheer Competition safety floor can also be removed after Saturday's Individual Cheer allowing the Dance section to be performed on a staged area which will enhance the Dance performances. This also means that your entire squad will be there to support you on both days, everyone who qualifies can perform, and those who aren't competing in the Cheer divisions need only come on the Sunday.

Being situated in the City Centre of Dundee, there are numerous advantages. Firstly it is so easy to get to no matter what form of transport your squad is using. At less than 5 minutes walk from both the bus and train stations, and of course cars / coaches or buses can unload in either adjacent street to the city square. (Steps lead from either street to the front entrance of the Caird Hall). Due to its central location there are numerous places within a gentle stroll from the front doors to either eat, drink or shop. Whatever you plan in your free time, can be found only a short walk from the Championship Venue.
We hope to welcome all our old friends, and of course many new ones, to this premier event in the Cheerleading Calendar in 2003. A traditional Scottish welcome awaits all Squads, Supporters and Officials who are attending this event.
