RULES AND REGULATIONS
GENERAL INFORMATION AND GUIDELINES FOR THE
SCOTTISH NATIONAL AND WCA EUROPEAN CLASSIC
CHAMPIONSHIPS 2003
Please take your time and read the following very carefully. If you are unsure about any of the following rules and regulations, no matter how small and insignificant it may seem, please contact us using the e-mail address at the bottom of the page. We will answer all queries / questions you may have.
1. Teams must have a minimum of 5 members. There is no maximum level except where stated in the division description.
2. All teams have a maximum of 2 minutes and 30 seconds to complete their routine. All individual and stunt entrants will have a maximum of 1 minute and 30 seconds to complete their routine. There are no minimum time limits for any type of routine. Timing and judging of routines will begin with the first organized movement or the first note of music. timing will end with the last note of music or the ending motion or pose is held. Introductions, spell-outs and / or organized entrances are considered part of the performance. All participants should walk onto the floor and immediately start their routine after placement of any props.
3. Teams, Individuals and Stunt Groups must perform in official uniforms / costumes. Individual, Stunt Groups are not required to be part of a squad performing at the event.
4. All routines will be judged using a 100 point scale. (Stunt routines will use a 50 point scale) The decisions of the judges are FINAL !
5. The main performance area of the mat will be 36 foot deep x 42 foot wide. For safety reasons we require everyone to perform their routines on the mat. There will be deductions for stepping outside the performance area.
6. The only props allowed in CHEER divisions will be Poms, Megaphones, Banners and Signs.
7. All routines must be suitable for viewing by audiences of all ages. Vulgar or suggestive material is restricted !
8. A maximum of 3 participants from any team may compete in more than one division of cheer or dance as long as they abide by the age restrictions in all divisions in which they compete.
9. Substitutions may be made in event of injury or other serious circumstance. However, all changes must be pre-approved by the event committee.
10. Please bring TWO HIGH-QUALITY copies of your music to the event. You may use CD's or Tapes.
11. In the event that your routine is interrupted because of failure of our equipment, facilities, etc, then the participant(s) affected will be permitted to restart the routine from the beginning. If in the event the routine is interrupted because of failure of the participant's equipment, music or supplies, the participant(s) may either continue or withdraw from the the competition. Competition officials reserve the right to stop a performance due to injury.
12. One representative of your squad / team will be responsible for your music during the competition. This person must remain at the sound area throughout the entire performance.
13. All participants must submit a signed waiver form prior to performing. NO EXCEPTIONS !
14. Jewellery is deemed a SAFETY HAZARD, and as such every item of jewellery will cause an infraction on your teams scorecard. Plasters or adhesive tape covering jewellery do not constitute a safety measure. All items of jewellery must be removed.
15. Camcorders and flash photography are NOT PERMITTED during the championships. Anyone found breaking this rule without express prior written permission from the event organizer, will be removed from the premises.
16. The winners of every division of both the Scottish Nationals and the WCA European Classic will be invited to compete at the WCA National s in Nashville USA.
