Due to popular demand, and the increasing number of councils, parents and officials asking for creditable cheer coaches qualifications, we at Scotcheer are once again hosting the Coaches and Judges Certification Courses. These courses will be held on Monday the 5th May 2003 and will again be administered by fully qualified WCA staff. This is the officially recognised qualification for coaches by Scotcheer and other organisations around the world.
This course will be based on the NFHS spirit rules safety and WCA judges & coaches certification, as well as the WCA cheerleader conditioning seminar. The course will include information on stunt terminology , safety requirement and judges tips and cues. This course will also include the spirit rules safety and coaching exam at the end of the day.
This certification course will cover all aspect of cheerleading. The course rules taught, if used properly, are intended to promote and preserve the sound traditions of the sport and minimise the risk to participants. The rules taught also form the basis of every competition, including the Scottish Nationals & WCA European who follow these safety rules very closely.
We have heard nothing but extremely positive reviews regarding all aspects of the last seminar we hosted in November 2002 (archived page 1). The information presented to all the coaches attending and the teaching methods of the instructors was described as first class.
Each entrant will be given the latest version of the NFHS Spirit Rules Book 2002/3 along with the WCA's Cheerleading Coaches Notebook (which has lots of tips and hints). All participants will also be given a copy of the WCA's World Class Coaching Manual (written by Ginger Lowery), which Scotcheer has kindly been given the right to reproduce for the benefit and further development of cheerleading in Scotland.

The total cost for all of the above is £150 per person (£120 for Scotcheer registered coaches & members) and is open not only to coaches, but any cheerleader over the age of 18.
