UPDATE FROM XPLOSION!
Hi All!
|
The excitement is now
setting in as the time is nearing for our departure across the water and
the nerves are beginning to show.
Upto
now we have been totally focused on getting out routine up to
standard and very tight for this comp where we know we will be competing
against the best! The girls have worked extremely hard and I am pleased
to be coaching such a dedicated and determined group. I am sure you
will al be proud of them as they help to represent Scotland in Nashville
2004.
I can sympathize with
you Nicola, having had illness strike our team also over the past few
months but hopefully we will all be fit and
well in time to go. I hope your girls are well now too.

Two of our seniors
are not traveling with us due to personal circumstances and we will miss
them very much but we know they will be supporting us from home. Like
many of you who have given your support through the web-site - thank
you.
Training aside, we
have also been fundraising for the trip and my thanks go to all parents,
friends and family, not just of my senior team but all my girls who have
given their support to this trip.
Wishing Electric
Candy the very best of luck, we will be right there with you. Hopefully
our schedules won't clash and we can be there lending our voices in
support.
Watch this space for
our feedback when we return!
Amanda, Xplosion!
Coach.

UPDATE FROM ELECTRIC CANDY
Hi everyone,
Steve asked me to give you all the up date on my team’s progress with their trip to Nashville.
|
|
As you can imagine we are all terribly excited and nervous about competing. We are all well aware of the standard of the WCA and the experience of all the other teams that we will be competing against in the states. I have now been informed that we are the first British squad to compete in the co-ed open elite section (also one of the most difficult!!). None the less we plan to get the best experience and enjoy this opportunity of a lifetime. (Typically) as it stands we have 2 very ill cheerleaders one with shingles and the other with glandular fever who may have to cancel her trip as part of the team, plus 2 girls injured with knee and ankle problems!. Any coach reading this will be thinking I must be mad but like I said we plan to use every inch of determination to get us their as a full team and make the most of it. The training has been very hard and demanding. I am sure Amanda coach of explosion understands the efforts made to get our teams ready on time to make every one supporting us proud. We are all hoping that all our kids have a fantastic time during their stay in Nashville and take home some fantastic memories of the event win, lose or draw. Jo if there is a secret to surviving this trip please feel free to tell me, as I know your team has made it safely and successfully across the Atlantic at Nashville. I guess if I ever stop stressing about competing as a cheerleader my-self at the event, get our music ready on time, plus finish routine and hope all our team will be well enough to travel, I think we will put our Scottish cheerleading mark on American soil to make sure that everyone will remember us ! This hopefully not being because we all land on our heads because of our tumbling or stunting ha ha (fingers crossed)! Also good luck to explosion, we will cheer you on and best of luck to all the teams competing in all Scottish events next year. ECC plans to make you all proud and can’t wait hopefully to give you all a good update when we return. |
Cheers Nicola Hamilton ECC Coach
PS: Respect to all my team who have put up with me and worked so hard xx
