The following Level Rules must be adhered to when making your Cheer routines. The Level rules are self explanatory but if you have any questions please email the Scotcheer Office for clarification.

STUNTS
*No extended stunts allowed. A stunt may not be held at or pass through a position above prep-level.
*Single legged stunts are allowed below shoulder (prep) level.
*Transitional stunts may not involve changing bases. *Twisting mounts are not allowed.
*Bases cannot turn during mounting.
*See level 1 Pyramids” for further restrictions and/or exceptions.
*Single legged stunts may not be held at or pass through a position above prep-level.
*Transitional stunts may not involve changing bases. *Twisting mounts and transitions are limited to 1/2 twist by the top person. *Base(s) cannot turn during mounting while top is in upward or downward motion. *See level 2 “Pyramids” for further restrictions and/or exceptions.

*Twisting mounts and transitions are limited to 1 twist by the top person. *During transitions, at least one base must be in contact with the top person.
* Single leg extended stunts are allowed.
*Twisting mounts and transitions are limited to 1-1/2 twists by the top person. *During transitions, at least one base must be in contact with the top person.
* Transitional stunts may involve changing bases.
*Physical contact during transitions must be maintained with a person at prep-level or below.
*Twisting mounts and twisting transitions are limited to 2 twisting rotations by the top person.
DISMOUNTS
*Only pop downs and basic straight cradles are allowed.
*1/4 turns are not allowed.
*No cradles are allowed from extended stunts.
*Only basic straight cradles and 1/4 turns are allowed.
*Twist cradles exceeding 1/4 turn and all other positions (e.g. toe touch, pike, tuck, etc are not allowed).
*Only basic straight cradles and 1/4 turns are allowed from any single legged stunt.
*Single full twists are allowed from any 2 legged stunts.
*Flips are not allowed.
*Up to a 1-1/4 twisting rotations allowed from single legged stunts.
*Up to a 2-1/4 twisting rotations allowed from all 2 legged stunts.
*During a cradle that exceeds 1-1/4 twists, no skill other than the twist is allowed.
*Flips are not allowed.
*Up to a 2-1/4 twisting rotations allowed from all stunts.
RELEASE
MOVES
*No release moves allowed other than those permitted at Level 1 in “Dismounts” and “Tosses”.
*No release moves allowed other than those permitted at Level 2 in “Dismounts” and “Tosses”.
*No release moves allowed other than those permitted at Level 3 in “Dismounts” and “Tosses”.
*Release moves are allowed but must not exceed extended arm level. Tick-tocks are permitted.
*Release moves are allowed but must not exceed more than 18 inches above extended arm level.
INVERSIONS
*No inversions allowed.
*No inversions allowed above ground level. (Exception: Transitions from ground level inversions to non-inverted positions are allowed).
*No inverted stunts allowed above shoulder level. (Exception: Double base suspended forward roll).
*Only suspended front flips from prep-level are allowed to the performing surface while inverted. Top persons must maintain constant hand-to-hand contact with 2 original bases. Top persons may not flip over an individual, stunt, pyramid or prop.
*Inverted stunts that travel in a downward motion may only originate from below prep-level. The inverted top person must be assisted by at least 2 bases. Top person must maintain contact with an original base.
*Suspended flips to the performing surface are allowed if the top person maintains physical contact with at least 1 base that is in direct weight-bearing contact with the performing surface while inverted. *Inverted stunts that travel in a downward motion may only originate from prep-level or below. The inverted top person must be assisted by at least 2 bases and may not make contact with the performing surface. Top person must maintain contact with an original base.
*Suspended flips are allowed. *Inverted stunts that travel in a downward motion may originate from extended level or below. The inverted top person must be assisted by at least 2 bases. Top person must maintain contact with an original base.
PYRAMIDS
*Pyramids must follow partner stunts and cradling rules and are allowed up to 2 high with the following exceptions:
1.) Two leg extended stunts must be braced on both sides by prep-level stunts.
2.) One leg stunts at prep level must be braced on both sides by prep-level or lower stunts with hand/arm connection only. The connection must be made prior to executing single leg stunt & must be made at prep-level or below.
3.) Extended two leg braced stunts are not allowed to cradle above pre-level.
*Pyramids must follow “Stunts” and “Dismounts” rules and are allowed up to 2 high with the following exceptions:
1.) Extended stunts with a top person on one leg must be braced on both sides by prep-level stunt.
2.) The connection to prep can be hand or foot and must be established at prep-level or below.
3.) Prep level top persons must have both feet in bases hands. (Exception: shoulder sit or double base thigh stand).
*Top persons must maintain contact with a base at all times and may not lose contact with a prep when changing positions.
*Pyramids must follow “Stunts” and “Dismounts” rules and are allowed up to 2 high.
*Top persons must maintain contact with a base at all times.
*During a Pyramid transition, a top person may pass above 2 persons high while in direct physical contact with at least 1 person at prep-level or below. Primary weight may not be borne at second level.
*No braced flips allowed.

*Braced flips are allowed if physical contact is maintained with 2 top persons at prep-level o below and must be caught by at least three catchers. Primary weight must not be borne at second level.
*Braced flips are limited to 1 flipping and 1 twisting rotation.
TOSSES
*No basket or sponge tosses allowed.
*The only tosses allowed are straight rides. (Exception: A single full twisting log/barrel roll is allowed as long as it starts and ends in a cradle position).
*All types of tosses (i.e. basket, squishy, scrunch and/or sponge) allowed but must be caught in a cradle by the original bases.
*Helicopter tosses are not allowed.
*Flipping (front or back) or travelling tosses are not allowed.
*Tosses that exceed 1-1/4 twisting rotations are not allowed.
*Other toss positions besides straight rides are allowed.
*Helicopter tosses are not allowed.
*Up to 2-1/4 twisting rotations allowed.
*During a toss that exceeds 1-1/4 twisting rotations, no skill other than the twist is allowed. (e.g. kick doubles are not allowed).
*No flips allowed
*Helicopter tosses are not allowed.

*No flipping rotations are allowed.
*Helicopter tosses are limited to 180 degree rotation with a 1/2 twist and must be caught by at least 3 catchers, one of which is positioned at head and shoulder area of the top person.
